We live in the age of information. We have more information available to us than we know what to do with.

That is not a good thing.

Good spiritual hygiene is more about who you know than what you know. The Shepherd’s goal is our transformation. Too much “what” can result in arrogance and a sense of self-sufficiency – the opposite of what Jesus is going for.

As under-shepherds, our goal must be the same as his. We may impart certain information, but we must imprint Christ’s character. What is imparted can easily be forgotten; what is imprinted is a building block in who they are becoming .

And that is a very good thing.
