Many have said it, and I finally believe it: To develop as a writer, one must write every day.
Tall order. One that I have been reluctant to tackle. But the time has come.
Not specifically because I intend to become a great writer, but because the things I want to say deserve to be said in the most articulate way. The most effective way. A way that will move others to action. Because action is required.
Because the fire burning within me cannot be ignored.
So this is day one. Not saying a lot, just starting a habit. I hope you will join me…
I started a journey through The Artist’s Way last summer and since beginning have written 3 morning pages nearly every day. Getting into that practice helped me to get over my internal block that said I couldn’t write every day. In fact I’ve learned that I actually can. So my morning pages have been my incubator of sorts. Kudos to you for beginning this habit.
Thanks, Donna. I am hopeful that this discipline will contribute to others that I need to cultivate.
