Sober warnings for those of us who are entrusted with shepherding. The work we do is important, and it is an honor to engage. But our calling is one of grace, not merit.

We are not anyone’s savior; that job has already been taken. We are simply blessed to be invited to re-present him.

The best preparation for serving well? Abiding in the Shepherd to cultivate a sense of the grace by which he empowers us to be his co-laborers.
